Long description
In heavy-duty operation, what matters most is how the motor handles long-term load, repeated starts and stable running in tasks where downtime is not tolerated. The H17RL 400X4-8 model with an output of 500 kW is designed to deliver higher reliability in production operation within the 700-750 rpm range, while also proving its worth when modernising drives in equipment with low-voltage infrastructure.
This VYBO Electric series is designed as H17RL 400X4-8 400 V / 690 V for operations that require an accurate power profile at different voltage levels. The three-phase 400/690 V electric motor is naturally suited to situations where an effective replacement for an older drive is required without unnecessary intervention in the technology, while also demanding robust behaviour under load.
The slip and mechanical characteristics are designed for stable operation with a rated speed of 742 rpm, rated torque of 6435 Nm, a starting torque ratio of 120 percent and a pull-out torque ratio of 200 percent. During start-up, the starting current ratio of 650 percent helps, efficiency reaches 95.6 percent and the power factor is 0.81, which in practice supports energy-conscious operation in long production cycles.
700-750 rpm range for stable process operation
In applications where smooth power transmission is decisive, the motor operates as an electric motor for low-speed applications while maintaining parameters suitable for process machinery. In this speed range, it proves itself in dairy lines, sludge mixers, belt conveyors with controlled slope, drum screens, mixers for dry blends, plastic extruders, aggregate grinding mills, rolling drives, flocculation mixers, raw water pumps, biomass crushers and winding equipment for process belts.
The 400 mm frame size gives the construction space for a long service life in machines where operational discipline and repeatable load are required. The strong cast-iron frame supports the rigidity of the assembly, while LV electric motors of this design class are suitable for deployment in heavy industry and in segments described as Heavy Duty process performance. VYBO Electric develops and manufactures these motors specifically for European industry, with an emphasis on the requirements of Western Europe.
Construction prepared for demanding environments
The option to adapt to the environment is important where dust levels, humidity or the method of cleaning the technology changes. Depending on the operation, IP56, IP65, IP66 or IP67 protection can be selected so that the motor adapts to the specific environment without compromise to the overall drive integration. This flexibility is important in lines that move from indoor conditions to wash-down areas or to operations with increased dust exposure.
The standard equipment includes a steel fan cover for better protection of the cooling section, reinforced bearings protected by a steel cover, grease resistant to high temperatures, a metal terminal box with a more robust design and reinforced bearing end shields for higher mechanical resistance. For maintenance, this means a less sensitive point around the ventilation and more robust behaviour during long operating intervals.
Performance parameters for accurate drive sizing
In technical design, the rated current of 934 A applies for the delta 400V connection and 541 A for the star 690V connection, giving designers a clear basis for sizing the power supply and protection. The design is also supported by the internal machine characteristics, as the mass of 4250 kg and the external starting inertia of 657 kg m2 must be incorporated into the entire drive assembly. The moment of inertia GD2 of 71.8 kg m2 helps with calculating start-up dynamics and braking modes.
For operations with sensitive diagnostics, readiness for measurement and monitoring is also important. For this assembly, thermal protection with 6x PT100 in the winding, PT100 in the DE and NDE bearing, anti-condensation heating and 3x PTC is available, which makes integration into monitoring systems easier and reduces the risk of unnoticed temperature deviation during load.
Bearing arrangement and diagnostics for long operating intervals
The bearing arrangement is solved through the DE bearing 6326C3 and the NDE bearing 6326C3, which supports stability during long-term operation and in applications requiring more precise rotor centring. The rotor cage made from solid aluminium contributes to reliable transmission of mechanical energy in applications where repeated loading and thermal stress are monitored throughout the entire shift. The insulation class F together with temperature rise B complements the design basis for industrial use, where a conservative thermal regime and winding stability are required.
Operation in applications with high demands on availability
In practice, the motor is used in drives for mixing tanks, main fans, heavy pumps, compressor sets, rolling mills, conveyor lines, granulators, biomass cutters, screw conveyors, rotary kilns, sludge pumps and pressing equipment. Each of these applications places emphasis on stable engagement, thermal resistance and service predictability, which is precisely where the professional VYBO Electric range, based on in-house development and premium materials, stands out.
When designing a replacement drive for a production plant or a technology supplier, it is important that the motor fits into the existing mechanics, electrical connection and service regime. The H17RL 400X4-8 therefore represents a solution based on years of experience of the VYBO Electric manufacturer, a robust construction for industrial deployment and parameters suitable for modernisation in environments where reliable performance over a long cycle is expected.
If you are considering a replacement for an existing drive or an exact integration into a new line, send us an enquiry and we will prepare a technical assessment according to your operation.
H17RL 400X4-8 400 V / 690 V delivers 500 kW of power and stable operation at 742 rpm in the 700-1000 rpm class. Frame size 400 mm, environmental adaptation, and classification among Heavy Duty process performance support use in demanding operation.
