Long description
For selecting a drive in demanding operation, it is worth focusing on thermal reserve, starting characteristics and service logic. The H17RL 400X3-2 model is designed so that in the 2900-3000 rpm range it supports efficient operation of a low voltage drive in plants where stability of output, repeatability of start-up and long-term availability of equipment are monitored. In practice, this is a low voltage asynchronous electric motor for lines that must not stop because of an unbalanced drive or unnecessary losses.
The strong cast iron frame helps to damp vibrations and provides strength under long-term load. In combination with a steel cooling cover, reinforced bearing arrangement with steel protection and high temperature lubrication, a metal terminal box and reinforced bearing shields, this creates a design suitable for operations that expect consistent mechanical durability. The frame size according to IEC 400 mm also makes it easier to connect to existing technological units.
The choice of mounting design brings practical scope during modernisation. For this type, IM B3, B35, B5 and V1 designs are available, so it can be adapted to pumps, fans, compressors and gearboxes without unnecessary structural modifications. The modern design created using Hi-TECH technologies helps both with installation and with service access, which is appreciated by technology suppliers and manufacturing plants when replacing an older drive.
Power of 710 kW together with torque of 2275 Nm gives the drive a reserve for starts as well as for stable load. A starting torque ratio of 120% and a breakdown torque ratio of 200% support use in drives for demanding applications where response to load peaks is decisive. During start-up, the motor operates with a starting current ratio of 750%, which is a parameter that must be taken into account when designing the switchboard and protective elements.
Efficiency of 96.1% and power factor of 0.89 are important for operations that monitor energy costs and network loading during repeated cycles. When supplied at 400 V, the motor operates with a rated current of delta 400V 1202 A, while at Y 690V connection the rated current is 697 A. This electric motor 400 V / 690 V therefore fits well into low voltage infrastructure, where compatibility with the existing distribution system and gradual start-up of the technology are addressed.
High speed applications require an exact combination of speed, inertia and bearing arrangement. Rated speed of 2980 rpm together with external starting inertia of 232 kg.m2 and moment of inertia GD2 21,200 kg.m2 support operations in which the electric motor for high speed applications must maintain stable running even under dynamic load. DE 6220C3 and NDE 6220C3 bearings improve the preconditions for reliable integration into process units.
Insulation class F and temperature rise B correspond to operation where the thermal reserve of the winding and the life of the entire system are monitored. A weight of 3680 kg also indicates a robust construction, which is desirable in heavier industrial deployment. The rotor cage in massive aluminium design complements a construction that is suitable for processes with frequent starts and a requirement for mechanical durability.
The equipment also includes thermal protection with 6x PT100 in the winding, PT100 in the DE and NDE bearings, anti-condensation heating and 3x PTC, which makes supervision of the drive condition in real operation easier. VYBO Electric works with ISO certificates for this series as a normal part of production, not as an extra on paper. For manufacturing plants, technology suppliers and industrial companies, this is a practical basis for reliable installation and risk control.
2900-3000 rpm segment for stable start-up and process performance
This speed class makes sense in applications where higher speed deployment is required without losing operational discipline. H17RL Compact PRO here acts as a solution for modernising drives that must combine power, efficiency and start-up control.
- Plastic granulation mills with continuous load in regranulate production.
- Centrifugal pumps for process water in chemical production.
- Fan units for dust filtration in cement plants.
- Compressor systems for compressed air production in pressing shops.
- Extruder lines for processing polyolefins.
- Agitator drives in industrial sludge treatment processes.
- Rotary dryers in the production of mineral mixtures.
- Roller conveyors in metallurgical operations.
- Grinding units for processing metal parts.
- Separation systems for woodworking operations.
- Process mixers in food technology.

- Pumping stations for circulation of cooling medium.
- Technological conveyors in bulk material processing lines.
Mounting design and 400 mm frame for easier integration
When replacing an older drive, it is crucial whether the new motor fits into the existing space without intervention in the machine foundation. The frame size according to IEC 400 mm, multiple mounting variants and a solid mechanical construction help shorten downtime and reduce the number of interventions in the technology.
Efficiency, torque and electrical sizing for low voltage networks
Values of 96.1% efficiency, 0.89 power factor, 2275 Nm and the 400/690 V voltage solution are important when designing the supply, protection elements and starting schemes. For operation, this means better control of network loading, a more predictable start and more suitable deployment in technological units with higher torque demand.
Service safety and winding temperature supervision
In long-term operation, not only mechanics matter, but also continuous supervision of the motor condition. Thermal sensors, anti-condensation heating and a robust bearing arrangement simplify maintenance and reduce the risk of unplanned outages. For plants that are dealing with efficient drive replacement, this is a practical support when planning service and when technically approving new equipment.
The H17RL 400X3-2 in the H17RL Compact PRO version combines 710 kW power, 2980 rpm speed, robust mechanics and well thought-out accessories for industrial deployment. If you need a design for a specific application or a comparison with an existing drive, send us an enquiry.
