Select voltage and nominal speed for the duty point

When specifying a 315 kW medium and high voltage electric motor, the first decisions are usually the supply voltage and the required nominal speed. The H27R-HD-Modular series offers this power rating for 6000 V and 10 000 V systems, with pole versions from 2POL to 12POL. The fixed nominal speed depends on the pole count: 2POL approx. 2900-3000 rpm, 4POL approx. 1400-1500 rpm, 6POL approx. 900-1000 rpm, 8POL approx. 700-750 rpm, 10POL approx. 550-600 rpm and 12POL approx. 450-500 rpm.

In steel and metallurgy process drives, these versions are commonly considered for rolling auxiliaries, furnace-support systems, material handling lines, extraction fans and pumping duties. The three-phase electric motor design is well suited to heavy-duty drive systems where stable operation, defined parameters and project-specific technical configuration matter.

Configuration options for industrial projects

Each version can be tailored to the application with IP55 enclosure protection, IC611 air-to-air cooling, insulation class F, temperature rise class B and S1 continuous duty. A welded steel frame provides a robust mechanical base, while anti-friction bearings can be grease or oil lubricated depending on the final configuration. Monitoring and protection options include PT100 sensors for stator and bearings, 3 PTC thermistors and a 230 V space heater.

The motor can also be configured for frequency converter use where required, and additional options such as 3300 V and 11 000 V, 60 Hz, IC616 or IC666 cooling, and alternative mounting forms are available on request.
