Choosing the right 4000 kW drive

When specifying a 4000 kW medium and high voltage electric motor, the key decisions are voltage, pole count and the duty profile of the driven machine. The H27R-HD-Modular series gives engineers a structured set of options for 6000 V and 10 000 V systems, with 3300 V and 11 000 V available on request. 50 Hz operation is standard, while 60 Hz can also be arranged for suitable projects.

Where the H27R series is used

This H27R 4000 kW electric motor is well suited to mining conveyors, mine ventilation, pumps, fans, compressors, mills and other heavy industrial machinery. In conveyor and ventilation duties, the focus is often on stable operation, practical monitoring and the right speed group for the installation rather than a single fixed design.

Speed is determined by the selected pole version: 2POL approx. 2900-3000 rpm, 4POL approx. 1400-1500 rpm, 6POL approx. 900-1000 rpm, 8POL approx. 700-750 rpm, 10POL approx. 550-600 rpm and 12POL approx. 450-500 rpm. These are fixed nominal speed groups, not a continuously adjustable range.

Configuration and technical features

The motor platform uses a welded steel frame, IP55 enclosure and IC611 air-to-air cooling, with IC616 or IC666 available on request. Insulation class F, temperature rise class B and S1 continuous duty support reliable service in demanding installations. Anti-friction bearings are grease- or oil-lubricated depending on the final build, and standard monitoring includes PT100 sensors for stator and bearings, 3 PTC thermistors and a 230 V space heater.
