Choose the right drive for the duty and network

When specifying a 5000 kW medium and high voltage electric motor, the key decisions are supply voltage, pole count and the operating profile. The H27R-HD-Modular series from VYBO Electric gives engineers a practical basis for marine and offshore auxiliary drives, where the motor must suit the installed electrical system and the driven equipment rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all approach.

This power rating is available in 6000 V and 10 000 V versions, with 3300 V and 11 000 V available on request. That makes it easier to match the unit to seawater cooling systems, ballast pumps, cargo handling auxiliaries, ventilation systems or compressor sets. If the application needs a different running speed, the pole version can be selected accordingly: 2POL approx. 2900-3000 rpm, 4POL approx. 1400-1500 rpm, 6POL approx. 900-1000 rpm, 8POL approx. 700-750 rpm, 10POL approx. 550-600 rpm and 12POL approx. 450-500 rpm.

Built for continuous industrial service

As a three-phase electric motor with a welded steel frame, IP55 enclosure and IC611 air-to-air cooling, the drive is suited to demanding industrial environments. Insulation class F, temperature rise class B and S1 continuous duty support long-term operation when the system is correctly engineered. PT100 sensors for stator and bearings, 3 PTC thermistors and a 230 V space heater help with monitoring and protection, while anti-friction bearings may be grease or oil lubricated depending on the final configuration.

The motor can also be configured for use with a frequency converter where the application requires it. For project-specific requirements, other cooling arrangements such as IC616 or IC666, alternative mounting forms, or further technical adaptations can be considered.
